Professor Shlomo Ben-Haim
Founder and Chairman
Professor Shlomo Ben-Haim, a distinguished medical device entrepreneur, has an outstanding track record of co-founding innovative companies. He has held faculty positions as a Professor of Medicine, Physiology, and Biophysics at both Harvard University and the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. His academic background is in Medicine and Biophysics. Among his most notable inventions and developments are the CARTO system and CCM therapy. He has authored over 200 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has received numerous prestigious awards for his research and innovations. With more than 550 patents and patent applications worldwide, Professor Ben-Haim has made significant contributions to the field, including the invention of a navigated cardiac catheterization system and an implantable device for treating congestive heart failure.
Currently, Professor Ben-Haim is focused on building healthcare businesses that enhance patient outcomes while reducing overall healthcare costs.
Professor Justin Tretter
Lead Medical Scientist
Justin Tretter, MD is both Professor of Radiology and Professor of Pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, and Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging, Co-Director of the Congenital Valve Surgical Planning Center, and the Director of Cardiac Morphology for the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center at the Cleveland Clinic. In addition to having trained as a congenital cardiologist and advanced cardiac imager, he has unique training as a cardiac anatomist. He is an avid researcher having published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, over 30 textbook chapters, editor-in-chief for the 5th edition of Anderson’s Pediatric Cardiology textbook, and editor for the 5th edition of Wilcox’s Surgical Anatomy of the Heart and the Oxford Textbook of Cardiac Anatomy.
His primary clinical and research focus relates to establishing clinical imaging means for delineating patient-specific variation in the conduction system and cardiac valve anatomy to guide surgical and procedural personalization.
Yuval Bonen

Yuval is a seasoned leader in medical device innovation with a proven track record of advancing groundbreaking technologies in the fields of cardiac imaging, nuclear medicine, and stroke treatment. With over a decade of experience managing complex R&D projects and leading cross-functional teams, he has driven significant advancements in medical imaging and patient care.
Prior to his role in Cara, Yuval was instrumental in leading projects at prominent companies such as GE Healthcare, where he managed a large-scale product lifecycle program for nuclear medicine systems deployed across thousands of sites, and BrainsGate, where he led the development of a pioneering neuro stimulation device for ischemic stroke treatment.
Currently serving as the VP of R&D for the Israeli R&D site, Yuval oversees the development of next-generation imaging systems designed to enhance cardiac intervention procedures.
